Connecting with your motivation is a powerful tool for your wellness journey. At WeShape, we believe that asking yourself "why am I doing this?" is a critical part of the process. Setting your "Why" and "Intention" on your Home screen serves as a daily reminder of what truly matters to you.

What is "My Why"? Finding Your Root Motivation

Your "Why" is the deep, foundational reason you are on this path. To find it, we encourage you to dig as deep as possible—the more you can get to the root of your why, the more meaningful your journey will be.

A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself "why" 4-5 times to get past the surface-level answers. For example:

  • Why do you want to exercise? To lose weight.

  • Why do you want to lose weight? To feel better.

  • Why do you want to feel better? To have more energy for my children.

  • Why is that important? Because I feel a lack of connection with them and I want to engage more.

In this example, the true "Why" isn't about losing weight—it's about connecting with family. This is the powerful anchor you want to capture.

What is "My Intention"? Preparing Mind and Body

Your "Intention" is your focus for the present moment. Once you understand your deep "Why," your intention gets your mind in motion and prepares your body to take action. It's a short-term goal or a mindset you want to bring to your week, such as "to be consistent," "to listen to what my body needs today," or "to move with joy."

How to Set Them

  1. Navigate to your Home screen (the main dashboard).

  2. Locate the section labeled "My Why" or "My Intention".

  3. Tap the edit icon or the text area itself.

  4. A box will appear allowing you to type in your statement.

  5. Once you're done, tap "Save" or the checkmark to confirm.

Your "Why" and "Intention" will now be displayed on your dashboard. We recommend revisiting them often. While your core "Why" might stay the same for a long time, your "Intention" can change as often as you like to reflect your focus for the day or week ahead.
